We are pleased to invite you to the next edition of the RICTA meeting (Reunião Ibérica de Ciência e Tecnologia de Aerossóis, in Portuguese; and Reunión Ibérica de Ciencia y Tecnología de Aerosoles, in Spanish). This 9th edition is organised by Atmospheric Optics Group (GOA) of University of Valladolid (UVa) and will take place in Valladolid (Spain) from 1st to 3rd of July 2026. The GOA group is excited to host this vibrant meeting to bring together Spanish and Portuguese groups active in aerosol research, as well as researchers from other countries who are most welcome to attend. During the three-day event, participants will have the opportunity to network, find new and lasting collaborations, exchange ideas, create new ones, and be inspired by top-level keynote speeches, to further develop the field of aerosol research. We especially encourage the participation of young researchers, whose fresh perspectives and enthusiasm are vital to shaping the future of aerosol science and strengthening the bonds within the Iberian scientific community. The program will combine multi-disciplinarity with the highest scientific quality.

The city of Valladolid, rich in history and culture, offers a unique setting for the RICTA 2026 meeting. Participants will enjoy its renowned gastronomy and architectural heritage (the Palacio Santa Cruz, the Cathedral, the church of La Antigua and its museums) making it an ideal place to combine scientific exchange with cultural enrichment.

En Valladolid, la jornada está organizada por la Universidad de Valladolid, la Fundación UVa y la empresa Citospin, y contará con la participación de 54 estudiantes de Bachillerato de dos centros educativos de Valladolid. El objetivo de esta actividad es despertar el interés por la ciencia y la investigación biomédica, mostrando de forma accesible cómo se trabaja en este ámbito.

El programa en la Universidad de Valladolid, que tendrá lugar entre las 9.00 y las 13.00 horas, incluye varias charlas divulgativas sobre células madre y medicina regenerativa, impartidas por investigadoras del Departamento de Bioquímica, Biología Molecular y Fisiología de la UVa y de la empresa Citospin, así como una actividad participativa titulada “Reconstruyendo un órgano con células madre” y una visita a la Unidad de Producción Celular de la Universidad de Valladolid.

El proyecto LIFE + REB, propone entre sus objetivos, aplicar una “selvicultura climáticamente inteligente” (Climate-Smart Forestry, CSF) a las masas de rebollo y revalorizar su madera en productos de larga duración y almacenamiento de carbono.

El undécimo Rebollo Lab tendrá lugar en Villasrubias (Salamanca), donde volveremos a tener la oportunidad de llevar a cabo otro de los encuentros con agentes del sector, con el propósito de seguir sumando aportaciones para definir conjuntamente una Estrategia de Gestión Forestal de los bosques de rebollo.

Villasrubias se integra dentro de la comarca de Ciudad Rodrigo y las subcomarcas del Campo de Robledo y El Rebollar.

Life Green Ammonia project takes part in ManuREsource, an international conference stimulating the exchange of experiences between regions on the policy measures taken for coping with manure surpluses, both in terms of manure management in a broad sense, and more specifically in terms of manure treatment.

This conference also aims to give an overview of the current developments and innovations in organic waste treatment technologies from livestock farms, exploring various valorisation strategies such as energy production and nutrient recovery.

This is the seventh edition of the conference and it will take place in the Netherlands (Ede, Wageningen).

El proyecto Life Green Ammonia participa en ManuREsource, conferencia internacional que promueve el intercambio de experiencias entre regiones sobre las medidas políticas adoptadas para afrontar los excedentes de estiércol, tanto en términos de gestión del mismo en un sentido amplio, como más específicamente, en términos de su tratamiento.

Esta conferencia tiene como objetivo ofrecer una visión general de los desarrollos e innovaciones actuales en las tecnologías de tratamiento de residuos orgánicos procedentes de explotaciones de animales, explorando diversas estrategias de valorización, como la producción de energía y la recuperación de nutrientes.

Esta es la séptima edición de la conferencia y tendrá lugar en los Países Bajos (Ede, Wageningen).

La Fundación UVa, a través del Parque Científico, y Naukas organizan, en colaboración con la Diputación de Valladolid, el Teatro Zorrilla y la Universidad de Valladolid, la octava edición de estas charlas sobre ciencia para todos los públicos que ha posicionado a Valladolid como una ciudad comprometida con la cultura científica. 

Naukas Valladolid 2025 se estructura en dos sesiones: la de mañana a 10.30 a 13.30 y la de tarde de 17.00 a 20.00 horas. El acceso es libre, gratuito y por riguroso orden de llegada, tanto a la sesión de mañana como la de tarde. Una vez comenzado el evento no se podrá acceder ni abandonar el recinto. 

En Naukas Valladolid, 12 investigadores y divulgadores de reconocido prestigio hablarán sobre ‘La ciencia del futuro’ en cada una de sus áreas de conocimiento. Cuatro de esos divulgadores son investigadores de la Universidad de Valladolid.

Este proyecto de carácter europeo está coordinado a nivel autonómico por la Fundación UVa, a través del Parque Científico, en el marco del Plan TCUE 2024-2027, un proyecto de la Junta de Castilla y León que coordina la Fundación Universidades y Enseñanzas Superiores de Castilla y León.

Este encuentro está dirigido a estudiantes de los últimos cursos del Grado en Óptica y Optometría, con el objetivo de acercarles y facilitar su conexión con empresas del sector y representantes del Colegio Profesional, fomentando su conocimiento del mercado laboral y sus oportunidades de inserción profesional.

Welcome to the 3rd Conference on Advanced Materials in Spain (AMatS-2024) that will take place from November 12th to November 14th 2024 in Valladolid at the Palacio de Congresos Conde Ansurez in Valladolid.

The third edition aims to be a discussion forum on the current status and perspectives of the different types of advanced materials. We will provide once again a high-level platform where recognized experts and participants will share new developments, research and testing technologies that will surely contribute and inspire you in to moving advanced materials one step further!

This edition will not only be attended by groups involved in the Complementary Program of Advanced Materials project but also extends its invitation to any materials science enthusiast in general, with interest in exploring the most recent advances and sharing their knowledge and experience.

The conference will be organized into 4 thematic sessions composed of invited talks as well as contributed scientific communications in three modalities: oral, flash communication, and poster.

The meeting will start on November 12 at 09:00 AM and finish on November 14 at 6:00 PM. More information about the schedule will be provided later in the program.

THE RODENTS

Rodents are an outstanding group of living organisms. One of every three known mammal species is a rodent. They account for the largest fraction of mammalian diversity on Earth, and their relevance to ecosystems and human interests is practically unparalleled. Rodents have adapted to live in ecosystems all around the globe and, at the same time, they have a huge influence on those environments playing keystone roles as plant consumers, seed dispersers and prey to secondary consumers. Some species act as ecosystem engineers, truly modifying habitats and landscapes. Rodents can also be of nuisance to human interests, often causing significant damage to building structures and crop yields. They are also the most significant mammalian host group for numerous arthropod vectors and diseases of risk to public health. On the other hand, rodents constitute the key animal model for research worldwide. Hundreds of millions of lab rodents are annually breed and used to improve scientific knowledge and, ultimately, our life quality. The interest in progressing on rodent biology is thus global, and Rodens et Spatium international conference represents the best framework to update such knowledge.

Rodens et Spatium conferences started in France in 1987, under the name 'Le rongeur et l'espace'. In 1993, at its 4th edition held in Poland, the conference became international. Ever since the conference has been organized, almost biannually, in: Morocco (5th 1995), Israel (6th 1998), Czech Republic (7th 2000), Belgium (8th 2002), Poland (9th 2004), Italy (10th 2006), Russia (11th 2008), Turkey (12th 2010), Finland (13th 2012), Portugal (14th 2014), Czech Republic (15th 2016) and Germany (16th 2018). The next edition of the conference (17th) will take place, for the first time, in Spain. The conference will be held in the city of Valladolid between the 22th and the 26th of May. Valladolid is the capital city of the astonishing northwest region of Castilla-y-León, the largest autonomous administrative region in Spain.

Significantly, during the last three decades Castilla-y-León has experienced periodic and large rodent (common vole) outbreaks across intensified farming landscapes, triggering significant plant damage and zoonotic spill-over episodes of socio-economic and public health concern. The appearance of a novel, abundant and cyclic prey on Castilla-y-León farmland has also had significant impact on local trophic webs, periodically attracting large numbers of predators, including long-distance migratory raptors of conservation concern. Therefore, and in order to promote an effective and integrative knowledge transfer from Rodens et Spatium to local stakeholders and rodent managers, an ad-hoc round table entitled "Rodent-human conflicts in the XXI century: crop protection and public health" and coordinated by ITACyL (Castilla-y-León Agriculture Technology Institute) will be organised during the conference. The round table will count with the presence of some of the European leaders on the topic.

Noteworthy, the hosting region of the next Rodens et Spatium conference treasures magnificent historical heritage as well as unrivalled biodiversity, including emblematic and/or endemic species such as Spanish imperial eagle, Eurasian black vulture, great bustard, black stork, Cabrera’s vole, Iberian desman, Iberian wolf or brown bear. Valladolid’s weather and local food (tapas) and wineries (Ribera de Duero) will undoubtedly be a plus to encourage scientific debate on a friendly environment after the conference symposia. The social program for accompanying-persons will also provide a fantastic opportunity to get familiarized with historical and current Castilian tradition.
